Infertility refers to the inability to conceive a child or get pregnant after trying regularly for at least one year without using birth control. In our society, we are seeing that if a couple is having difficulty having a baby, all the responsibilities will be blamed on women. But the reality is There is no definitive breakdown of what percentage of infertility cases are due to male factor vs female factor since often both partners contribute in some way. But here is a general estimate:

Female factor – Approximately 35-40% of infertility cases are due to female factor infertility. This includes problems like ovulation disorders, uterine or tubal abnormalities, endometriosis, etc.

Male factor – Around 30-35% of infertility is due to male factors, including low sperm count, poor sperm quality, hormonal disorders, or problems with sperm delivery.

Combined male and female factors – In about 20-30% of cases, both the man and woman have contributing fertility issues. Unexplained infertility – In 10-15% of cases, no cause is identified despite completing a full fertility workup. This is called unexplained infertility. Other causes – The remaining few percentage points may be due to other factors like genetic issues, chronic illnesses, infections, or lifestyle factors.

Female causes for infertility

1. Ovulation problems – Issues with ovulation account for about 25% of female infertility cases. Problems can include irregular or absent ovulation due to hormonal imbalances or problems with the ovaries.

2. Fallopian tube damage or blockage – Damage to the fallopian tubes from prior infections, endometriosis, or surgery can cause blockages that prevent the egg from moving through the tube. This accounts for about 25-35% of female infertility cases.

3. Endometriosis – Endometriosis occurs when tissue that normally lines the uterus grows outside of the uterus, often affecting the fallopian tubes and ovaries. This can disrupt ovulation and cause damage and scarring. It affects up to 50% of women with infertility.

4. Poor egg quality – As women age, the quality and number of eggs decline, making conception more difficult. This age-related decline in egg quality is a leading cause of infertility in women over 35.

5. Other causes include uterine or cervical issues like fibroids or polyps, autoimmune disorders, chronic conditions like diabetes, and lifestyle factors like smoking and alcohol use. Genetic issues and unexplained infertility also play a role for some women.

Homeopathy treatment for infertility is very effective in treating these female causes of infertility.

Male causes for infertility

1. Low sperm production – Issues with the testicles producing too few or poor quality sperm accounts for about 75% of male infertility cases. Causes can include varicoceles, undescended testicles, infections, tumours, and genetic disorders.

2. Sperm delivery problems – Blockages or damage to the male reproductive tract can impact the delivery of sperm due to congenital defects, infections, prior surgeries, or physical trauma. This accounts for about 15-20% of male infertility.

3. Sexual issues – Erectile dysfunction or problems with ejaculation can affect fertility. Medical issues like diabetes, certain medications, and injuries can contribute.

4. Antisperm antibodies – Sometimes the immune system mistakenly identifies sperm as harmful invaders and produces antibodies to attack them, impairing fertility.

5. Varicocele – Varicose veins around the testicle can cause overheating and reduced sperm quality. This is found in about 40% of infertile men.

6. Unhealthy habits – Things like heavy alcohol use, smoking, illegal drug use, obesity and stress can negatively impact sperm production and quality.

7. Environmental toxins – Exposure to pesticides, chemicals, and other toxins may disrupt hormonal balance and impair fertility.

8. Unknown causes – Even after evaluation, no specific cause is identified in about 15% of infertile men. This is classified as idiopathic infertility.

Homeopathy treatment can completely eradicate these conditions with pure natural medicines without any side effects.
